At WindEnergy Hamburg, Nikon Vidjajev, Development Director, and Karlis Goldstein, Director for the Baltic Sea Region, represented the Avara Offshore Wind consortium at a meeting of key Estonian stakeholders involved in the development of offshore wind projects.

The meeting brought together representatives of Estonia’s offshore wind development community around a central topic: the future of the country's energy policy and the conditions needed to accelerate the deployment of offshore wind.
Among the main lessons learned from the discussions, participants stressed the need for a clear and long-term political vision, based on objective data, a realistic understanding of costs, controlled development schedules and investments adapted to the technological needs of the large-scale sector.
The discussions also highlighted the importance of building a decision-making framework based on facts and rigorous analysis, to support the growth in electricity demand while supporting Estonia's energy ambitions.
A shared ambition that will be essential to enable Estonia to take full advantage of the potential of offshore wind and ensure its energy transition.
